Before launching a campaign, it takes one conversation with your AI assistant to verify that your tracking is solid. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any MCP-compatible client to your site via PixelYourSite MCP and run through this checklist. It takes about 10 minutes and can save you from spending money on broken tracking.
To follow this guide you need PixelYourSite MCP connected to your site. See Getting Started with PixelYourSite MCPfor setup instructions.
Start here
“Check my WooCommerce tracking setup and tell me what needs attention before I launch a campaign.”
The assistant runs a full audit and returns only what needs fixing. Work through each issue it flags before moving on.
If everything comes back clean, you are ready. If not, the sections below explain what to do for each area.
Pixel ID
Make sure the pixel ID saved in PixelYourSite matches the one in your Meta Events Manager and your ad account. A mismatch sends every event to the wrong pixel.
“What Facebook pixel ID do I have configured?”
If it is wrong: “Update my Facebook pixel ID to [correct ID].”
CAPI
Without server-side delivery, browser blocking and iOS restrictions hide a growing share of your purchase events from Meta.
“Is my Facebook CAPI enabled and is a token saved?”
If not configured: generate a token in Meta Events Manager under System Users in Business Manager, then tell the assistant: “Save this Facebook CAPI token: [token]” and confirm.
If the token is saved but delivery is off: “Enable Facebook CAPI delivery.”
Advanced matching
Check that your email field name is configured at minimum. Email is the most impactful dimension for Event Match Quality.
“What advanced matching fields are configured for Facebook?”
If email is missing: “Scan my checkout page and add the email field name.” The assistant fetches the page, finds the field, adds it. Confirm.
For a full advanced matching setup see the Improve Your Facebook EMQ Score guide.
Funnel events
Platforms need the full purchase funnel to optimise campaign delivery. A missing ViewContent or InitiateCheckout limits what the algorithm learns.
“Are all my WooCommerce funnel events enabled?”
If any are off: “Enable [event name].” Confirm.
Content IDs
Check that all platforms are using the same content ID format. Inconsistent settings across platforms cause problems with dynamic ads and attribution.
“Show me my WooCommerce content ID settings per platform.”
If platforms differ: “Set all platforms to use product_id with no prefix or suffix.” Confirm.
If you have the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin installed and want to use its catalog content ID logic: “Set content ID logic to Facebook for WooCommerce.” The assistant enables it if the plugin is active.
If the audit mentions a dormant stale content_id_logic value: your IDs are generating normally, there is no current issue. To clean it up: “Set content ID logic to default.” Confirm.
Catalog feed
“Check my catalog feed alignment.”
If the Product Catalog Feed for WooCommerce plugin is detected, the assistant compares your pixel content IDs against your feeds automatically. If a mismatch is found, it proposes the fix. Confirm to apply.
If the plugin is not detected, the assistant will ask how you are feeding products to your catalog. Be ready to answer:
- If you use a different feed plugin: check what ID format it uses for the product ID field and compare it to your PYS content ID setting.
- If you use Meta’s native WooCommerce integration: the content ID logic setting from the previous step applies.
- If you do not run dynamic ads: skip this step.
Attribution recording
If you want to measure campaign results in PixelYourSite reports after launch, “Save data to orders” must be enabled before orders start coming in. This cannot be changed via the AI assistant.
“Is my WooCommerce attribution data recording enabled?”
If it is off: go to PixelYourSite → WooCommerce and enable it manually before launching.
Final check
“Run the tracking audit again.”
Everything should come back green. If anything is still flagged, fix it before spending.
