Text section (what visitors see)

The Text page controls the default wording used in ConsentMagic banners, popups, and consent screens. Think of it as the “master copy” for your consent UI.

What you can edit here

ConsentMagic groups text by where it appears:

  • Small bar or popup
The main message used when a rule is set to a Small bar or Small popup layout.
  • Large bar or popup
The main message used when a rule uses a Large bar or Large popup layout.
  • Button’s text
Labels for buttons used across consent interfaces (ex: Accept, Reject, Customize, Save).
  • Options popups
Text shown inside the detailed preferences screen (where users toggle categories).
  • Single-step
Text used for single-screen consent layouts (a compact “all-in-one” consent UI).
  • Video consent message
The placeholder text shown instead of embedded videos (YouTube/Vimeo/etc.) until the visitor allows the required category.
  • IAB
Text used inside the IAB consent interface (TCF-related screens).

Multi-language support

Each block includes an Additional languages area, so you can provide translated versions of the same text.

How rules interact with these texts (important)

By default, rules use the text from this page.

But inside each rule, there’s a Custom text option:

  • OFF: the rule uses the global/default text (this page).
  • ON: the rule can use custom text just for that rule (useful when GDPR needs stricter language than “Rest of world”, or when you want different wording per region/layout).
