Meta Product Catalog, Legacy Feed
The legacy feed type is kept for backward compatibility with older setups. It is not recommended for new feeds.
Why not to use it for Meta/Facebook
Meta Commerce policies restrict digital products — including software, plugins, templates, downloadable files, license keys, and digital subscriptions — from product catalogs used with Dynamic Product Ads. Meta may reject your catalog or disapprove individual products if they are digital goods. If your store sells digital products, the legacy feed is unlikely to work with a Meta Commerce catalog.
If you have an existing feed that is already approved and running, you can continue using it. For anything new, use the Google Merchant Center feed instead.
Creating a legacy feed
Go to EDD Product Catalog → Add Feed, give it a name, and select Legacy as the platform. The feed editor shows a notice reminding you that this format is not recommended.
Output format
The legacy feed can be generated as XML or CSV.
For CSV output, two formatting options are available:
Delimiter — the character used to separate fields. Options are Tab (default) or Comma.
Enclosure — the character used to wrap field values. Options are Double quote (default) or Single quote.
After saving, the generated file is available at:
- XML:
/wp-content/uploads/wpeddpcf-feed/xml/{feed-name}.xml - CSV:
/wp-content/uploads/wpeddpcf-feed/csv/{feed-name}.csv
Both URLs are shown in the Manage Feeds list and can be downloaded directly from there.
