Inform and Opt-out

Inform and Opt-out allows tracking by default but provides a mechanism for users to explicitly say “No”. This is commonly used for CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) compliance.

Behavior

Scripts & Cookies: Loaded immediately upon visit.

User Interface: Displays a banner with a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” or “Settings” option.

User Action: The user can navigate to the preferences pop-up and disable specific categories (like Marketing or Analytics).

Meta LDU: Often combined with the Limited Data Use (LDU) flag for Facebook/Meta to limit data processing for California residents.

Configuration

In the rule settings, set Consent type to Inform and Opt-out.
