Product Catalog Feed for WooCommerce / Creating and Managing Feeds / Google Inventory Feeds

Google Inventory Feeds

Last updated: February 12, 2026

This is a subfeed that works together with your main Google Merchant product feed.

  • The main Google Merchant feed sends Google your product catalog: titles, descriptions, images, links, GTIN/MPN, etc.
  • The Google local inventory feed sends store-level availability and pricing (per physical location), so Google can show Local Inventory Ads / “Pick up today” / “In stock nearby” (when you use Google’s local inventory programs).

In other words: the main feed defines the product, the inventory feed defines what’s available in a specific store.

How it connects to the main feed

Parent feed

  • Parent feed: Google
This is the main Merchant feed this inventory feed “attaches” to.
Google uses the same product IDs from the parent feed to match inventory rows to products.

Store code

  • Store code
This must match the store code in Google Merchant Center / Business Profile for that location (the exact identifier Google expects).
If you have multiple stores, you typically create one inventory feed per store code, or you generate an inventory feed that includes multiple store codes (depending on how your setup works).

File name

  • Just the file name for this subfeed output (helpful if you have multiple store feeds).

What the settings on this screen do

Multicurrency

Shows supported currency plugins. If you use one, the inventory prices can match the currency logic.

Prices & Tax

  • Variable products price: chooses which variation price is exported when a product has multiple variations (ex: “Smallest price”).
  • Replace price with sale price when possible: if enabled, inventory price can reflect sale pricing when applicable.

Product Images Settings

This is mostly inherited behavior: which image is used if Google needs it for the item reference (the “parent” feed usually carries the heavy image data, but keeping consistent image logic is good).

  • Custom images (single product ad)
  • Featured image
  • Category image
  • Global image
  • Include additional images

Enable UTM for this feed

Adds UTM parameters to product URLs produced by the feed.

  • Use this only if you don’t already add UTMs in Google Ads (otherwise you can end up with conflicting/duplicated UTMs).
  • Automatic template fills UTM fields automatically.
  • Custom template / Custom lets you define your own UTMs.

Metadata for this feed

Adds feed-level metadata (generation date, internal comments). Usually optional.

How you use it in Google Merchant Center (high level)

  1. Make sure your main Google Merchant feed is active and accepted.
  2. Enable/prepare Google’s local inventory / local surfaces program (requires eligibility + store setup).
  3. Add the local inventory feed in Merchant Center and upload/schedule-fetch it.
  4. Google matches each inventory row to a product using the same product IDs from the parent feed + the store code.
