Easy Digital Downloads General Settings
These settings control how PixelYourSite tracks EDD purchases, how it handles renewals/admin orders, how it builds EDD reports, and how it formats IDs + values for ad platforms.

Purchase and Refund Tracking Settings (API)
These toggles are a backup for cases where a browser event can’t happen (no customer pageview), like:
- auto-renewals (subscription renewals)
- orders added by an admin in wp-admin
When enabled, PixelYourSite sends a Purchase via API to the selected platforms.
- Facebook backup and renewals Purchase tracking via API
Sends Purchase to Meta via CAPI (requires a Meta CAPI token). - Google Analytics backup and renewals Purchase tracking via API
Sends Purchase to GA4 via Measurement Protocol (requires GA4 Measurement Protocol secret). - TikTok backup and renewals Purchase tracking via API
- Pinterest backup and renewals Purchase tracking via API
Track refunds on Google Analytics
Sends a Refund event to GA4 via API when an order becomes Refund (requires GA4 Measurement Protocol secret).
Recommendation: enable these if you sell subscriptions or you create orders in the backend (they fill tracking gaps).
General
Enable Easy Digital Downloads Reports
Saves extra “origin + customer value” data (landing page, UTMs, traffic source, client time, number of orders, LTV, AOV).
You can see it in the Easy Digital Downloads Reports page and on orders.
Recommendation: keep ON (it powers better reporting and customer value segments).
Display the tracking data on the order’s page
Shows landing page/source/UTMs on the order edit screen.
Display data to the user’s profile
Shows customer totals (orders count, lifetime value, average order) on the WP user profile page.
New customer parameter
Adds a new_customer parameter to the Purchase event (for Google native tags and GTM). Useful for New Customer Acquisition setups.
- Send it for guest checkout
- Don’t send it for guest checkout
Recommendation: keep Send it for guest checkout ON if you use Google’s new-customer features or want clean new vs returning segmentation.
Transaction ID
Prefix
Adds a prefix to transaction IDs.
Use it if you run the same tags on multiple sites (prevents duplicate transaction IDs across websites).
When to fire the AddToCart event
- On Add To Cart button clicks (recommended)
- On Checkout Page (fallback)
Recommendation: keep button clicks ON. Enable Checkout Page only if your theme/plugin breaks standard add-to-cart detection and you need a backup signal.
ID Settings (Download IDs sent to platforms)
These decide which EDD product identifier is sent in events. This is critical for Dynamic Ads / Dynamic Remarketing.
You can set an ID (default shown: Download ID) plus optional prefix/suffix for:
- Facebook (
content_id) - Google Tags (
ecomm_prodid) - Bing
- GTM (
ecomm_prodid)
Recommendation: keep the default (Download ID) unless your catalog/feed uses a different ID format. The event ID must match your feed/catalog IDs.
Google Dynamic Remarketing Vertical
- Use Retail vertical (pick this if you use Google Merchant Center)
- Use Custom vertical (pick this if Merchant Center isn’t available for your country/setup)
Recommendation: Retail for almost all EDD stores.
Value Settings
- Use EasyDigitalDownloads price settings (recommended)
- Customize Tax (only if you need different tax handling in event values)
Lifetime Customer Value
Controls how PixelYourSite calculates LTV (used in reports and “valuable customer” features).
Recommendation: include only the statuses you consider “real revenue” (most stores use completed/paid states).
