Price Rules

Last updated: February 12, 2026

Price Rules let you change product prices automatically—with discounts or fixed prices—based on the products you select and (optionally) a time schedule. Use them for sales, promos, VIP pricing, seasonal offers, and permanent price adjustments.

How Price Rules work

  • You create a rule → choose how the price changes (discount or fixed price) → choose which products it applies to → choose when it runs.
  • Rules can be enabled/disabled anytime.
  • You can duplicate a rule to create variations fast.

The settings

Enable / Disable (toggle)

Turns the rule ON or OFF without deleting it.

Exclusive

If enabled, this rule is treated as exclusive (useful when you don’t want other rules to stack on top of it).
Typical use: “Black Friday – 30% OFF” should override everything else.

Name

Internal name so you can recognize the rule later (customers won’t see it).

Notes (private)

Internal notes for your team (why the rule exists, campaign link, etc.).

Method (how prices change)

You can pick one of these:

1) Fix discount

Subtracts a fixed amount from the current price.
Example: -10 → $50 becomes $40.

2) Percent discount

Applies a percentage discount.
Example: 20% → $50 becomes $40.

3) Fix price

Sets the product price to a specific value.
Example: 29 → price becomes $29 no matter what it was.

The field next to “Method” is where you enter the value (amount, percent, or fixed price).

Products (what the rule applies to)

Apply to all products

If enabled, the rule targets the entire catalog.

Add products

Use this to target specific products instead of all products.

Condition (applied to all products): AND / OR

This controls how multiple product selections/filters are combined:

  • OR = match any of the selected groups
  • AND = must match all selected groups

Time settings (when it runs)

Run this rule continuously

Always active (as long as the rule toggle is ON).

(If other scheduling options exist in the dropdown, use them for limited-time campaigns.)

Buttons

Validate & Close

Checks the rule and closes the editor (good before saving).

Save this setup

Saves your changes.

Duplicate / Delete (top right)

Quickly copy a rule or remove it.

Quick examples

Example 1: Storewide sale

  • Method: Percent discount = 15

  • Time: Run continuously (or schedule, if available)

Example 2: $10 off selected products

  • Method: Fix discount = 10
  • Apply to: Add products → select the items
  • Condition: OR (most common)

Example 3: Set a promo price

  • Method: Fix price = 29
  • Apply to: a specific product/category selection
  • Exclusive: ON (so nothing else modifies it)
