Creating Your Notifications (Boost)

Last updated: February 12, 2026

To create a notification campaign, go to Boost → Dashboard and click New Boost.

Boost will walk you through a simple wizard. In the UI you’ll see 5 mini-steps (Boost Type → Configure → Message → Display → Review & Publish). In the docs below, we group them into 4 steps so it’s easier to understand.

Step 1: Trigger & Source

(Wizard steps: 1 Boost Type + 2 Configure)

First you choose where the activity comes from and what should trigger a notification.

Choose a source

  • WooCommerce
Show boosts for orders, add to cart clicks, or stock messages (ex: low stock).
  • Easy Digital Downloads (EDD)
Show boosts for purchases or add to cart.
  • Integrated Forms
Works with supported form plugins (built-in integration).
  • Leads (Any Form)
Capture submissions from almost any HTML form using a CSS selector.

Configure what’s captured

Depending on the source, you’ll usually pick one of these:

  • All products / categories (broad social proof)
  • Specific products or categories (more targeted)
  • A specific form (for lead capture boosts)

Tip: If you’re just starting, begin broad (All Products), then create extra boosts later for best-sellers or key categories.

Step 2: Appearance

(Wizard step: 3 Message)

This is where you define what the popup says and what dynamic data it can show.

Build your text using variables

You’ll typically have:

  • Top message (header)
  • Main message (body)

You can insert dynamic tags (the ones you see as draggable chips in the wizard), like:

  • NAME, TOWN, STATE, COUNTRY, TIME
  • PRODUCT NAME
  • PRODUCT WITH LINK (clickable product)

Examples you can copy

  • Top: NAME from TOWN, STATE
Main: Bought PRODUCT WITH LINK · TIME
  • Top: Someone from COUNTRY
Main: Added PRODUCT NAME to cart · TIME

Pick a style

  • Template / shape (example: “Round”)
  • Desktop template and Mobile template (you can choose different ones)

Choose the image type

Toggle what the notification shows on the left:

  • Product images
  • Maps
  • Icons

Step 3: Display Rules

(Wizard step: 4 Display)

Now you control where the boosts are allowed to appear.

Include rules (where to show)

Common options include:

  • Home page
  • Product pages / category pages
  • Cart / checkout
  • Specific URLs or pages
  • Post types or taxonomies

Exclude rules (where NOT to show)

Use exclusions to prevent boosts from appearing on:

  • Thank-you pages
  • Account pages
  • Internal landing pages
  • Any URL you want to keep “clean”

Device targeting

Choose whether this boost appears on:

  • Desktop
  • Mobile
    (or both)

Step 4: Finish

(Wizard step: 5 Review & Publish)

You’ll see a final preview of the notification and you can:

  • Save & Close (publish it)
  • Or save it as a Draft and come back later

After publishing, you can always:

  • toggle the boost ON/OFF from the dashboard
  • edit / duplicate / delete it
