Attribution Reports

Last updated: July 28, 2026

PixelYourSite records which traffic source, landing page, and UTM parameters brought each customer to your site before they purchased. Your AI assistant can query this data directly — no dashboard, no export, just a question.

“What were my top traffic sources last month?” “What products did my summer campaign sell?” “How did my Google CPC traffic perform week by week?”

Reports are available for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads. They are always queried separately — the assistant never combines them in one answer.

Requires “Save data to orders” enabled in PixelYourSite → WooCommerce (or EDD). The historical sync must also be complete before data is available for past orders.

Before you start

Enable data saving. Go to PixelYourSite → WooCommerce (or EDD) and enable “Save data to orders.” From that point PYS starts recording attribution data for new orders.

Run the historical sync. For existing orders, run the historical import from the same settings page. The assistant will tell you if the sync is still in progress and will warn you that figures may be incomplete until it finishes.

If the sync is not complete, the assistant will flag this clearly before showing any numbers.

What you can ask

Top performers:

  • “What are my top UTM campaigns by revenue this month?”
  • “Which traffic sources drove the most orders last quarter?”
  • “Show me my top landing pages for the last 30 days”

Specific campaign or source:

  • “What products did my Black Friday campaign sell?”
  • “How did my email campaign perform day by day in November?”
  • “How many orders came from google / cpc last month?”

Comparisons:

  • “Compare my top two UTM sources by revenue”
  • “Did my paid campaign outperform organic last month?”

The assistant always specifies which store (WooCommerce or EDD) it is querying. If you have both and do not specify, it will ask before running any query.

Attribution dimensions

You can break down results by any of these dimensions:

DimensionWhat it tracks
traffic_sourceChannel, e.g. google / cpcfacebook / socialdirect
traffic_landingFirst (or last) page the visitor landed on
utm_campaignUTM campaign parameter
utm_sourceUTM source parameter
utm_mediumUTM medium parameter
utm_contentUTM content parameter
utm_termUTM term parameter

Attribution models

Every query uses one of two models:

first_visit (default) — attribution goes to the session that first brought the visitor to your site, even if they came back later before purchasing.

last_visit — attribution goes to the session immediately before the purchase.

The same order can be attributed to different sources under each model. You can ask the assistant to compare both: “Show me my top campaigns under first-visit and last-visit attribution.”

Drill-down

After getting a summary, you can drill into any specific value to see:

  • Products — what was sold, with quantity and revenue
  • Dates — daily order count and revenue over the period
  • Orders — order IDs and revenue per order (no customer details)

Example: “What products did my summer_sale campaign sell?” or “Show me daily revenue from google / cpc in June.”

Date ranges

Available: today, last 7 days, last 30 days (default), last 90 days, this month, last month, or a custom date range.

What the reports do not include

This data comes entirely from PYS’s own attribution records — it is not connected to ad platform dashboards. The reports cannot show:

  • ROAS or cost per acquisition (no ad spend data)
  • Conversion rates (no session or visitor count, only completed orders)
  • Revenue by country, city, or payment method
  • Customer names, emails, or contact details
  • Cart abandonment or sessions that did not result in a purchase
  • Any data from before PYS was installed, unless the historical sync covered it

Results are capped at 20 rows per query. For the full dataset, use the reports UI in PixelYourSite → WooCommerce Reports or the GPT export.
