Strategy 1: Use Conversion Exporter as Your Main Conversion Source

Replace the Google Ads conversion tag completely and send conversions directly from your site โ€” based on real WooCommerce orders.

โœ… When to use it:

Use this method when the Google Ads tag is unreliable or doesnโ€™t fire properly. This can happen when:

  • The order confirmation page isnโ€™t reached

  • Tags are blocked by privacy tools or browser settings

  • Offline or delayed payments donโ€™t trigger a tag

  • You want clean, fully controlled data based on actual transactions

๐Ÿ”ง How to set it up:

1. Create a new conversion in Google Ads:

  • Go to Tools & Settings โ†’ Conversions โ†’ New conversion action

  • Choose Purchase as the goal

  • Under source, select Import โ†’ Other data sources or CRMs โ†’ Track conversions from clicks (Enhanced for leads)

  • Complete the setup and enable HTTPS upload

2. In Conversion Exporter:

  • Create a new Conversion Task

  • Select:

    • Google Ads Data Manager format

    • Conversion for Clicks (Enhanced for Leads) type

  • Copy the generated feed URL, username, and password

3. Back in Google Ads:

  • Go to your conversion’s Import settings

  • Add the feed URL, username, and password

  • Google will crawl this file regularly and import new conversions

โœ… Conversion Exporter automatically detects when Google crawls the feed, and the next update includes only new orders. No duplicates. No spreadsheets.

โž• Track Modified and Refunded Orders

After setting up your main conversion source, you can track order adjustments too โ€” like refunds or changed totals.

1. In Conversion Exporter:

  • Create a new Conversion Task

  • Use the exact same name as the main Google Ads conversion

  • Select:

    • Conversion Uploads Format

    • Conversion Adjustment type

2. In Google Ads:

  • Go to Tools & Settings โ†’ Conversions โ†’ Uploads

  • Click New upload

  • Add the feed URL, username, and password from your new Conversion Task

Google will now receive updates for refunded and modified orders โ€” all matched using the original transaction ID.

Strategy 2: Run Google Tag Conversion as the Main Source, Use Conversion Exporter for Missing and Adjusted Orders

In this setup, your Google Ads tag remains the main method for tracking conversions โ€” firing on the order confirmation page. Conversion Exporter is used as a secondary source to recover missed orders and send refund or modification data.

โœ… When to use it:

  • You already use the Google Ads tag for conversion tracking

  • You want to fill in the gaps caused by blockers, skipped thank-you pages, or privacy settings

  • You want to report refunds and modified orders, which the tag canโ€™t track

๐Ÿ”ง How to set it up:

1. Google Ads Conversion Tag:
Already installed and firing on your order confirmation page. This remains your main tracking source.

๐Ÿ›  Step 1: Capture missed orders

In Conversion Exporter:

  • Create a new Conversion Task

  • Use the exact same name as your Google Tag conversion in Google Ads

  • Select:

    • Conversion Uploads Format

    • Conversion from Clicks (Enhanced for Leads) type

    • WooCommerce as the source

  • Enable: Only orders not tracked by the PixelYourSite Google Tag

In Google Ads:

  • Go to Tools & Settings โ†’ Conversions โ†’ Uploads โ†’ New upload

  • Add the URL, username, and password from the Conversion Task

โœ… This task will only send orders that didnโ€™t trigger the tag โ€” recovering missed conversions.

๐Ÿ›  Step 2: Send refunds and modified orders

In Conversion Exporter:

  • Create a second Conversion Task

  • Use the same name as the main Google Ads conversion

  • Select:

    • Conversion Uploads Format

    • Conversion Adjustment type

In Google Ads:

  • Go to Conversions โ†’ Uploads โ†’ New upload

  • Add the URL, username, and password for this task

โœ… This task sends all refunds and order modifications, keeping your conversion data accurate and up to date.

๐Ÿ“Š The Result:

  • Main conversions are tracked by the Google Tag

  • Missed orders are recovered by Conversion Exporter (Enhanced for Leads)

  • Refunds and modifications are sent via a separate adjustment feed

You get complete, clean, and accurate conversion data โ€” without losing what your tag already tracks.
